This month we started by attending the Grand Opening of "][
Dudes Racing" in Mansfield. They are a store specializing in child
off-road vehicles and racing gear like dirt-bikes, go-carts, etc. The
United Freestyle Team
was there to put on a little high-flying stunt action. |

Caitlin started ballet and tap dancing lessons at a local
city recreation center. |

Devin gets a hand from Mom riding his new scooter. |

 |
Caitlin's school, Ashworth Elementary, held their PTA
fundraising carnival. It was hot enough to devalue a 50 cent carnival ticket
to somewhere around 10 cents on the free market. Caitlin got her face
painted, Devin spent a good 10 minutes trying to wrangle a bottle with a
hoop fishing rod, while Dad emptied his wallet. |

 |
At the carnival, Devin and Caitlin decided they wanted to
try the hill climb. They went up on either side at the same time, but Devin
slowed his progression in response to the increasing height. Finally, Mom
tore off her shoes (which were melted to her feet from the heat), and
ascended the perilous face to rescue Devin. In the last picture, if you
listen closely, you can hear the sound of flesh meeting plastic at the
melting point, and see a grimace on the face of Angela. |

 |
The kids visited the dentist (my long-time friend Dr.
Michael Thomas) for the first time in their innocent lives. Caitlin went
first, but couldn't bear the mental anguish. So after several failed
attempts at consolation, we put Devin in her stead. She watches pensively,
gripping her mouth in anticipation of some horrid scream of pain from Devin,
but none comes. "Oh, maybe this isn't so bad after all," she thinks. And
from there on out it was a piece of cake, or candy, or whatever other sweets
these kids have been eating to get cavities! *ugh* And again my wallet is
lighter. Which sounds coincidental with the carnival situation, which is
probably somewhat responsible for the candy situation, which is possibly
mildly responsible for the cavities. |

Angela and I helped out in the three year old Sunday School
class. This little red-haired tyke hit it right off with me. Angela has a
short lapse of cognitive awareness and thinks she is a kid. (hmmm, where
have we seen this before? Cue the montage music and click the following

Our Sunday School class has a toddler play group every
Monday morning. Here Devin plays with Hannah Wiese and Daniel Erickson. |

Angela and I attended the Tad Clements/Jennifer McLeod
wedding. I had to snap a shot of this nine year old girl who played the harp
at the beginning of the ceremony. She really did a lovely job. |

Bailey Cross conks out after a very hard night of playing
over at our house.

Poor, poor Devin. He fall-down-go-boom on the driveway. He
got a goose-egg on his forehead and a scrape on his knee. Ok, so Mom overdid
it on the head bandage, but he was taking all of this way too seriously
anyway. |
